Joel Osteen Developing Your Pearls
Joel Osteen's sermon titled Developing Your Pearls talks about how God uses irritants to help us grown and develop as people.
Joel noted that pearls are expensive but they are caused by irritations.
He talks, humorously, about longsuffering meaning you suffer a LONG time.
God knows there is a pearl inside you and he uses the situations in our life to develop that pearl.
Our attitude should be that if this is where God has me I must need it. We should stay on The Potter's Wheel to become more like Christ.
He used Romans 8:18 as a reference:
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
If we share in God's glory, we must be willing to suffer as well.
Toughen up and pass God's tests!
Trust in God develops as you grow and pass His tests.
How much have I grown in the last 5 years?
We cannot waste time going around the same mountain all the time.
Every time you pass God's tests you grow stronger.
1 Peter 4:12
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
We ask God to change other people instead of asking Him to change us.
Be happy in spite of your circumstances not becasue of them.
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Stay moldable and pliable.
