The Master Mind Principle of Napoleon Hill
In the book Law of Success, the Master Mind principle is the only one that Napoleon Hill lays claim to creating. He writes “With the exception of the psychological law referred to in Lesson One as the “Master Mind,” the author lays no claim to having created anything new in this course."
Even if you have a very clear God given Definite Purpose for your life, in very few cases will you be able to achieve all that you are capable of without a few very close personal relationships where you share your purpose, goals, thoughts and challenges. There is something very powerful about like minded people working together towards a definite purpose and goals. The energy and thought transference that occurs creates belief, persistence and unwavering faith. Napoleon Hill defines it as “…a mind that is developed through the harmonious co-operation of two or more people who ally themselves for the purpose of accomplishing any given task.” The Bible states it this way “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
The people you choose for your group are obviously extremely important. It is best if your spouse is one of your members however, in many cases, due to dissimilar interests and talents and life purposes, it is best not to include them.
The people you choose also must have a Positive Mental Attitude. Napoleon Hill writes in Law of Success “No group of minds can be blended into a Master Mind if one of the individuals of that group possesses one of these extremely negative, repellent minds.”
The word that is used the most in the chapter is Harmonious. It is repeated so often that there is no doubt that it is the key when choosing members of your group. Napoleon Hill writes “Some minds will not be harmonized and cannot be blended into a “Master Mind.”.
You also might consider a number of members for different areas of your life. You could have a Master Mind for your physical and spiritual lives, for your definite purpose and your finances for instance. The people you choose may all have different purposes and goals however, if you each work on helping others in the group in a spirit of harmonious cooperation, you will achieve things that you never could on your own.
I would love to be a part of your group. The main reason I took the steps to become a Certified Napoleon Hill Foundation Instructor is to Master Mind with others to help them define and achieve their God given definite purpose for their lives.
