Grace Jose is a friend of mine and we attend the same church, Heartland, A Church Connected in Mississauga, Ontario.
I got to know Grace well when we both took classes to lead support groups at our church.
I had the great pleasure and blessing to interview her for my Journey To Success BlogTalkRadio show.
I was interested in finding out what a doula is as I had never heard the word before. I knew a little bit about midwives and it was interesting to find out about the differences between a midwife and a doula.
Having experienced three very different births of her own (epidural, natural childbirth, and cesarean), Grace understands the anxiety and confusion that can sometimes be associated with childbirth and the choices involved with labour and delivery. This is why she is so passionate about labour and delivery and believes that every woman deserves the best, most fulfilling birth experience possible.
Grace has supported families in the Halton/Peel Region as well as the GTA through labour and delivery. She has served on the board of her community residence association reaching out to families in her community, and has lead a support network for married couples through Heartland a Church Connected.
She currently volunteers on the welcoming committee at her church as well as on the Parent counsel at her daughters school. She love spending time with her busy family, playing Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee and traveling.
Grace is the owner of Graceful Birth Doula Services www.gracefulbirth.ca
She is a CAPPA Canada (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) Certified Labour Doula and a Childbirth Educator/Prenatal Instructor. She has her World Health Organization 20 hour lacation management certification as well as being trained as an official HypnoBirthing® Doula. She is the mother of three beautiful girls, and has an amazing supportive husband Danny.
Since the beginning of time, women have been supporting women through childbirth and the postpartum period. It has been the collaborative effort and experiences of these women that have encouraged and empowered them to transition into motherhood successfully. In our fast-paced modern medical society, we have forgotten this very essential support system that has proven to help women give birth naturally.
Graceful Birth is a group of educated, trained, and caring birth professionals whose main objective is to provide informational, emotional, and physical support to women and their partners through pregnancy, labour, and postpartum.
As Labour Doulas, we work for you alongside your health care team (either your Midwife or Nurses and Doctors), to provide you with exceptional support. After your baby's birth, we continue to support you with breastfeeding.
As postpartum Doulas, our job is to provide you with service at home to help promote and protect the mother-baby dyad. We are here to serve and take care of mothers, babies and young children. Our goal is to help your family transition from pregnancy to parenthood gracefully.
Graceful Birth offers a variety of services to help you make informed decisions, and to help you through your labour and postpartum period. Please browse though our website for more information about Labour Doula, Postpartum, and Childbirth Education services.
