Napoleon Hill The Musical
Napoleon Hill The Musical opened in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia on March 10th and played until the 19th as part of The Napoleon Hill International Convention. I had the privilege of attending the opening night show.
The show was presented by Napoleon Hill Associated (M) Sdn Bhd & KLAP Theaters and played at the Auditorium TAR, MaTIC, Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur. It was written and directed by JD Menon and Produced by Christina Chia.
The musical consisted of 18 inspiring original songs and featured an international cast of 60 people.
The musical traced the life and times of Dr. Napoleon Hill and incorporated his philosophy as outlined in his book Think and Grow Rich.
As part of the opening night performance, Michael Telapary was invited on stage at the end to play his flute. He played the song Stand By Me and the cast as well as the crowd clapped and sang along. Dr. JB Hill, grandson of Napoleon Hill, was also invited on stage to say a few words.
I was able to meet quite a few of the actors and actresses both at the play and at the convention and I was really impressed by all of them.
Some of the other people involved were:
Lyrics: Jeevz, Chris Murphy, Brittany, JD Menon
Music Director: Jeevz Menon (Berklee USA)
Conductor: Ahmad Muriz Che Rose
Stage Manager: Jennifer Tanya
Choreographers: Katarzyna Kwasniewska, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Kevin E Chan
Period Costumes: Donna Elaine Lyon
Set Design: Boinc - India
Set Construction: Color Wheels Sdn Bhd
I don't think that March 19th will be the last time we see Napoleon Hill The Musical. I think, and hope, that it will play in North America sometime because it was that good.
