TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
In Today's Word from Joel Osteen is something that I have been practicing and praying about. It occurred to me when reading Three Feet From Gold, by Greg Reid and Sharon Lechter, that all the successful people greeted others with an offer to help. After that, my pastor, Gary Stagg had sermons that alluded to this "be of service to someone" message. My actual prayer has been that, whoever I am in communication with, that I think of and do something of service for that person. When you start focusing on that and asking people about it and doing it, life becomes so amazing for you. Of course others benefit from your service however you benefit the most by what it makes of you.
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE “...Love is kind...” (1 Corinthians 13:4, NIV)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria You may have heard this verse many times before, but one translation says that “love looks for a way to be constructive.” In other words, kindness isn’t just about being nice; it’s looking for ways to improve someone else’s life. It’s bringing out the best in others.
When you start your day, don’t just spend time thinking about yourself or how you can make your own life better. Think about ways you can make someone else’s life better, too! Ask yourself, “Who can I encourage today? Who can I build up?” You have something to offer those around you that no one else can give. Someone in your life needs your encouragement. Someone in your life needs to know that you believe in them. We are responsible for how we treat the people He’s placed in our lives. He’s counting on us to bring out the best in our family and friends.
Today, ask the Lord to give you creative ways to encourage those around you. As you sow seeds of encouragement and bring out the best in others, God will send people along your path that will build you up, too. Keep showing kindness so you can move forward into the blessing and freedom He has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for believing in me and always building me up. I ask that You show me creative ways to encourage and build up the people around me. Help me be an example of Your love today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
