Journey To Success Radio Interview with Tom Sutter from Cal's All Star Angels Foundation
For my Journey To Success Radio show I had the pleasure of interviewing Tom Sutter, Founder of Cal's All Star Angels Foundation. I was choking up for most of the interview as I learned about the amazing attitude of his son Cal and the great efforts by his family, friends and employer, DS&P Insurance Services to carry on Cal's legacy.
Cal Sutter made an impact on everyone he met. He was always very concerned with the well being of others and always went out of his way to help others. Everyone from teachers, coaches, and other kids commented on what a generous and kind soul he was.
In June 2005, Tom Sutter’s life was changed forever. He and his wife learned that their oldest child, Cal Sutter, a 12 year old South Elgin Little League All-Star, was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. The battle with pediatric cancer is a horrible nightmare that no child or family should ever have to experience. Yet, like most children, Cal never gave up hope and through it all, he was always more concerned about the well-being of the other children fighting cancer than he was about himself.
Cal ultimately lost is battle to cancer in August 2006 and the courage he displayed throughout inspired his parents to start Cal’s All-Star Angel Foundation, a tax exempt pediatric cancer foundation. Their main mission and purpose is to grant wishes and provide financial assistance to kids fighting cancer and their families to continue Cal’s legacy of always caring for others above anything else.
