Ken Williamson Senior Pastor Bethel, London's Riverside Church

Ken Williamson, Senior Pastor of Bethel, London's Riverside Church, spoke at Heartland Church in Mississauga, Ontario today. His sermon was lively, captivating and informative and the 3 main points he covered will help you learn 3 things:

1. Recipes for living

2. Rules to live by

3. A New Mindset

Ken's sermon was based on Proverbs 3:5-10

New International Version (NIV)

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.[a]

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. 8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Ken Williamson and his wife Christine had these verses on their wedding programs when they got married.

The sermon was based on Ken's life and 3 major things that he has learned and experienced in his life.

Ken has witnessed numerous people turn their lives completely around in such a dramatic way by having God break into their lives and changing them.

I have also witnessed, read, and know of, many people who were heading down the completely wrong path in life, when God break in and changed them totally on the spot in an instant.

God's Word transforms lives!

He referenced Isaiah 61:1

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

About prophecy he spoke about trusting God's prophecy as written in the Bible and to test all prophecy from man.

1 Thessalonians 5:19

19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.

One of the main ways to get the Word of God into your life he suggested is to turn up for church and keep turning up for church and something will happen. I say amen to that.

Everyone has the power in them to make good and Godly choices. Ken realized in his life that he could choose the level of God's blessing by his actions and his giving.

Ken Williamson's own father was chronically depressed. He did not show or demonstrate love or affection for Ken or his wife in any way. Ken decided that he would not live his life the same way as his father. He choose to live a life of purpose, joy, love, happiness and all the other positive qualities God allows us to choose in our own lives as well.

Ken referenced Deuteronomy 30:19

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

God sets the table, we get to choose. Choose life!

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Have a generous spirit!

Don't save for a rainy day, save for a sunny day.

Proverbs 11:25

A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

If you live your life according to the Biblical principles in Ken Williamson's message, there is no telling where God will lead you.
