I interviewed Malcolm Anderson, author of 'The Messengers' and 'Marathon Maniacs' for my Journey To Success BlogTalkRadio show.
I hold in very high esteem people who run marathons and people who have a black belt in any martial arts.
The self-discipline, perseverance, and commitment required to accomplish those feats are definitely impressive and worthy of respect.
Listen to the interview as Malcolm discusses how running can help you with your happiness levels, social connections, belief in yourself, as well as serve as an inspiration for your children.
Malcolm writes about distance running. His third book, The Messengers, is available in stores across the United States and Canada, online through a number of websites, and also in eBook format. ‘The Messengers’ is about runners who have completed 100 marathons or more. Some have completed more than a thousand. Malcolm interviewed over 120 messengers/ runners from around the world. Their stories are inspirational to runners and non-runners alike, and reaffirm the belief that anything is possible if you set your sights on the goals that are important to you.
Malcolm is also the host of a television show that follows the training of marathoners, and is the editor of a new book, The Marathon Maniacs, which features dozens of stories from Marathon Maniac club members.
Malcolm has completed 46 marathons and ultras. His most memorable races include the Comrades Ultra, the Tahoe Triple, and the Brathay 10 Marathons in 10 Days Challenge in England.
Although he’s a New Zealander, he lives on a small farm in Ontario, Canada. He is the founder of Run for Tomorrow, a non-stop marathon relay around the world that will be held in 2013. For more information on Malcolm, visit runplaces.com.
