Wildcat Championship Belts Founder Andrew Lazarchik creates and designs Championship Belts for the WWE. Chuck Bolena interviewed him for Journey To Success Radio.
Rare is a story of a childhood
fantasy becoming a reality like this one!
Wildcat Championship Belts was a dream for a small town boy from
Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Andrew Lazarchik’s
interest in championship belts started when he was a child back in the
1980’s. He was a huge wrestling fan
watching many of the great legends like Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, 'Macho
Man' Randy Savage, and all the superstars of that era every Saturday morning.
While Andrew enjoyed the entertainment aspect
of the sport, he took a keen interest in the championship belts that the
wrestlers fought for every week. His
artistic talents kicked in, as he would attempt to recreate these magnificent
belts he saw each week on paper. Using
left over Dot-Matrix printer paper that his aunt would bring home from work, he
would create intricate belt drawings by hand with colored pens, pencils and
markers creating visual masterpieces that he believed were worthy of recognition.
As Andrew grew older, his creativity grew
into a passion. He started using other
items around the house, as well as unused rubber and tin roofing material from
a local roofing company, or things he found at the local hardware store down
the street. One day Andrew was buying a
brass kick plate for a door, metal engravers, and bolts for one of his latest
creations. When he was checking out, the
store owner made the statement, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” as he
rang Andrew’s purchase up, knowing full well what he was doing with these
items. This comment stuck with Andrew,
and it became his motto as he started growing his passion into a business.
Andrew graduated from La Roche College with a degree in graphic design, and it was here where his passion met with opportunity. The college hosted a pro wrestling fundraiser show, and Andrew was introduced to the promoter of the show, who soon introduced him to several business people in the pro wrestling arena. This was Andrew's first ‘in’ into the world of pro wrestling, and over time got involved with refereeing, ring announcing as well as managing and promoting.
After graduating college, Andrew worked in the printing industry for several years, and with the will to create championship belts professionally, he found a way to make it happen. His persistence got him through tremendous adversity, and he created the opportunity to get him, and his work in front of a key decision maker, and the rest is history.
the years, Andrew has produced numerous Championship Belts for the WWE and his
custom designed belts have landed in the hands of famous legends such as the Rock,
Hulk Hogan, and Zack Ryder. He has
expanded his market to corporations and businesses, and has created corporate trophy
belts for companies such as Coca-Cola, Redbull, Verizon, FedEx, and Google.
